Alfred Uhry

Personal Information
Alfred Uhry is the only American playwright to have won a Pulitzer Prize (Driving Miss Daisy, 1988), an Academy Award (Driving Miss Daisy 1990) and two Tony Awards (The Last of Ballyhoo, 1997 and Parade 1999). He received a Tony nomination for his work on The Robber Bridegroom in 1975. He was inducted into the Georgia Writers Hall of Fame in 2014 and the Theatre Hall of Fame in 2015. His other work includes the plays, Without Walls, Edgardo Mine and Apples and Oranges, the musical, Lovemusik, the theatre/dance piece, Angel Reapers, co created with Martha Clarke, and several films including Rich in Love and Mystic Pizza.
