Romulus Linney

Personal Information
Romulus Linney is the author of three novels, short stories, essays, and over thirty plays, including The Sorrows of Frederick, Holy Ghosts, Heathen Valley, Childe Byron and 2, along with many adaptations, among them an Appalachian Peer Gynt and the stage version of Ernest J. Gaines's novel A Lesson Before Dying. Grants and awards include two OBIES - one for Sustained Achievement in Playwriting. He is a member of The Ensemble Theatre. He has been elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Letters, which gave him its Award in Literature and its Award of Merit Medal for Drama.
