Beth Henley

Personal Information
Beth Henley won the Pulitzer Prize and the New York Drama Critics Circle Award for Best American Play for Crimes of The Heart. Her other plays include The Wake of Jamey Foster (Hartford Stage, Broadway), The Miss Firecracker Contest (Manhattan Theatre Club), Am I Blue, The Debutante Ball, The Lucky Spot, Abundance, Signature, Control Freaks, Revelers, L-PLAY, Impossible Marriage, and Family Week. Ms. Henley wrote the screenplays for the acclaimed film version of Crimes of The Heart (Academy Award nomination), Miss Firecracker, and Nobody’s Fool, and co-wrote the screenplay for True Stories. She also wrote a teleplay for PBS’ series “Trying Times.” Ms. Henley was born and raised in Mississippi and graduated from Southern Methodist University. She is currently writing and directing “Broken Glass” for CBS.
